Life is slowly going back to the way it was.
The possibility of venturing into a cafe for a coffee (while keeping your distance) is now more of a reality than it was in March.
And we will take that, and anything close to that, as a win.
While we can’t plan a trip to Greece, we can still celebrate the tiny, joyous sparks of light are among us.
Here are 4 of the of the happiest things we came across this week.
Malala completed her degree at Oxford
22 year old Malala Yousafzai, an activist for girls’ education and women’s equality and UN Messenger of Peace, completed her Philosophy, Politics and Economics degree at Oxford.
And she proved she is just like the rest of us, saying now it is time for, “Netflix, reading and sleep.” #relatable
Malala rose to public attention in 2012 when, after speaking out publicly on behalf of girls’ right to an education, she was targeted by a masked gunman on her school bus and was shot on the left side of her face.
Seeing Malala embrace her human rights with grace, kindness and strength as well as encouraging others to do the same is the perfect remedy when you’re feeling uninspired.
Irish artists singing ‘Dreams’ by The Cranberries in aid of Safe Ireland
According to Safe Ireland, in Ireland there has been a 20% increase in domestic abuse since the Covid-19 lockdown.
Other countries across the world have similarly experienced an increase in rates of DV.
Safe Ireland is about creating safety for women and children through domestic violence services.
To support their work, more than 30 Irish women collaborated to sing ‘Dreams’ by The Canberries.
The rendition is completely haunting and beautiful and important.
Make sure you have a listen here.
Binge Watching ‘Love Life’
This show is a must-watch.
While this series offers nothing but a glimpse into the lovers of Darby (played perfectly by Anna Kendrick) from first to final, it is so great.
The way it is filmed and the stories it highlights are so important.
Relationships with friends, parents, boyfriends, husbands and siblings are all thrown in the mix.
Nothing is perfect. Sometimes so far from it. Accidents happen. And the show goes on.
The series has also been given the green light on a season 2, so that is just another moment to celebrate.
Love Life is available to watch on Stan in Australia.
Philosykos by diptyque
Does anything beat buying a new perfume?
There’s just something about adding a new scent to the collection.
With new scents come new memories.

I finally purchased Philosykos by diptyque. It’s been on my list for a while now and I decided yesterday was the day to welcome it home.
Described as “a true celebration of the magnificent fig tree on a summers day in Greece,” is it possible to go wrong?

The song is beautiful. I only thought the DV numbers in India had gone up a lot. Thank you for bringing these numbers out. DV is a huge problem. 😓

It is so beautiful. I agree, it is a huge issue – particularly in lockdown where lots of the resources are much harder to reach. That’s why it’s so important to bring attention to it – now and always. Hope you’re taking care. Thanks for your comment 😊
